The United States Basketball Network (USBN) is the organization that oversees a professional basketball system known as the United States Basketball Championship (USBC). The USBC operates as a league system with four levels, structured like a pyramid. At the top of this hierarchy, League 1 is referred to as the Champion League. The team that wins the Champion League earns the title of National Champion.
League Structure
Champion League (League 1): This is the pinnacle of the basketball championship, where only the best professional basketball teams compete under the national spotlight. League 2: Strong regional teams are striving for promotion to join the ranks of the elite. League 3 & 4: This is where the journey begins for many—developmental and local-based teams are working hard to advance and make their mark in the USBC.
Promotion and Relegation
In the Champion League (League 1), the team that secures 1st place is crowned the Champion of the basketball championship. Meanwhile, the bottom three teams face relegation. In League 2 and League 3, the top three teams earn promotion, while the bottom three teams get relegated. In League 4, the top three teams also achieve promotion, and the bottom three teams are relegated out of the USBC, giving three new teams the opportunity to compete in professional basketball.
